Quran Dream # 3 by Recite & Reflect | recitereflect.com
I wake up before fajr.
The house is quiet, as everyone else is still sleeping. I creep down stairs as I do every morning. This is my time. It’s my chance to connect with the words of my Creator so that I can truly live my life in a way that is pleasing to Him. I start by making dua and asking Allah to help me to use my time in the best of ways and not be distracted by anything else.
I open my mushaf and begin to read. The words flow so beautifully Ma sha’ Allah. It was not always that way but I decided to make a firm promise to myself one day back in May 2016, to truly connect to the Quran, and since then my relationship with the Quran has gone from strength to strength. I sit and read, applying all the tajweed rules that I have learnt. Making sure I give each letter its due right. I read for 20 minutes before moving on to my English translation Quran and spending another 20 minutes on that.
Finally, I sit and recite from memory. Today I am working on Juz’ ‘Amma, but throughout the week I go over different ajza’; as Alhamdulillah I have memorised the entire Quran,
and I am now working hard to ensure I do not lose this beautiful gift.
It’s Fajr time now and i pray with kushoo’ as Alhamdulillah I am able to truly reflect on the words that i recite.
My children now join me and I sit and listen to their recitation and help them with their tajweed.
